In 2011, Greenville established the Green Ribbon Advisory Committee in an effort to promote sustainability and reduce Greenville's negative environmental impact. This sculpture was designed in an effort to remind and keep the Greenville community accountable for their sustainable intentions. The Peace Center was chosen as the location for this sculpture due to its high traffic volume.
The sculpture, "Impact" was designed as an abstracted representation of earth filled with human-created waste. It serves as a reminder that each individual makes an impact on the earth and its wellbeing. "Impact" aims to teach mindulfulness and promote sustainability.
